San Diego is one of the best and easiest places to have a plant-based diet, with so many vegetarian restaurants catering to those skipping the meat.
Vegetarian Restaurants in San Diego
PLUMERIA VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS
Plumeria is an upscale, South-Asian inspired restaurant at the north end of Park Blvd. Our favorite item on the menu is the pumpkin curry. Also, don’t miss out on the tantalizing spices, and the perfect blend of sweet, spicy and savory that the dishes at Plumeria offer.
NOMAD DONUTS NORTH PARK
Nomad Donuts on 30th St is every dessert lovers dream. Our favorite concoction? The Ube Taro Coconut or Passionfruit Jalapeño. They have non-vegan and vegan options available at all times, with an ever-changing menu. Also, we love getting there early for the freshest donuts and a good old cup of joe.
EVOLUTION PARK WEST
Mostly a take-out joint, this fabulous veggie-friendly joint has even more fabulous options. We love the homemade tempeh burger with a side of chili cheese fries. Also, try one of their all organic shakes as a dessert. They’re amazing.
FLAVORS OF EAST AFRICA UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS
For something a bit different for your veggie palate, try this Kenyan cuisine-inspired Flavors of East Africa. Also, you can even bring your non-vegetarian friends here to try some of their adventurous meat items. But, for the vegetarians out there, make sure you try the Biriganya (chopped eggplant).
STATION TAVERN SOUTH PARK
A good old fashion eatery. What do we love most on their menu? The spicy sweet potato fries. That’s all we need to say about that. Just order, you’ll see for yourself.
